Hawaii 2009 – Day 2
August 9th, 2009I actually find Hawaii one of the toughest places I have ever photographed. This may sound funny but I have always explained to aspiring photographers that their job is not to photograph something beautiful and automatically think it will make your photo beautiful, you need to find something and make it your own. Take a photo that the person next to you would not recognize because you added your style the situation. Here in Hawaii I find that I don’t see many things to take photos of because there is no way for me to make it better than what I see. I drove/walked around this morning for nearly 90 minutes and did not take a single photo.

In addition, I HATE sunset photos; seeing them and taking them. But, I am trying to force myself to get over that so here is my first go at a sunset.

hey man. these look great. most like the 5 and 7 on the post.
making things more beautiful than they already are is really hard sometimes. that’s what makes what we do so awesome.
you did a great job man. looking forward to some more updates. enjoy! tell your wife that andrew and darlene say hey! (the souths)
I think that sunset shot is great! thats for the tweet tip that you were posting – lv seeing fresh new photos.
These are great! I completely agree with you that it’s a major challenge to photograph a place that is already so beautiful. Whenever I go to the botanical gardens, which is not nearly as beautiful as Hawaii, I get overwhelmed because, like you said, it’s difficult to make something better of it and make it unique.
