Basement Home Office DIY

November 26th, 2012

After moving this summer, I decided to embark on the journey of DIY and created a home office. My brother helped me with painting and the wooden wall then I built my desk and corner shelves using 1/2″ iron pipe and reclaimed wood. All electronics are built into the ceiling rafters to create a clean modern look for the wooden wall. The floors were scraped of old tiles and painted to accent the wall. I needed to block the water heater and furnace so I used red roofing material from Lowe’s. My main focus was on balance and the mixture of the existing elements of this 1940s home and modern workspace.
