Something a little different
June 28th, 2010I don’t often take engagement photos of friends, but Sarah Lynn and Luke are such a dynamic couple and extremely laid back that I thought it could be a great creative exercise. When preparing for a shoot, I only prepare my gear, not the shots I’m going to take. If I planned out my shots, I would show up and try to make those come to life and completely miss what could naturally come together. With Sarah Lynn and Luke, they showed up dressed in such a timeless style that I wanted to make the images match their vibe.
“With grace in your heart, and flowers in your hair” – Mumford & Sons

Amazing work as always. It won’t be long before we see you on covers instead of shooting them, though either is still pretty awesome!
Beautiful Casey – You should do more engagement work!
These are great. Very beautiful!
Lovely photos! Makes me want to be young and newly engaged, again!
beautiful work casey, i’ve tried shooting engagement/wedding stuff and sometimes its just really hard to get images that look natural, maybe its the amount of time, stress, not sure, but you put it off nicely. love the colors you used for this too, is this a cross-process that you used for these?
Shawn, thanks a lot. I used an Aperture “Vintage” preset and tweaked them from there. I loved how it handle the images.
love the style of these. great work.
I just came across you work from another blog and love it!! This session is awesome and I love the Mumford & Sons lyrics you put with it! So fitting.
